IAEA Regional Workshop “Nuclear Security Detection Architecture – Evaluation”

Amman, Jordan

22-26 September 2024

Often, individual bias has an influence on the management process of an institution, which forms stereotypes among personnel.
And when it comes to the needs of improvement and innovations of the risk management, we hear from stereotypical individuals following:
“We have a very good System – no need for improvement”
“It works. Why change it?”
“What is the cost of innovation and improvements?”
“If something will happen, we will handle it”.

But those people do not have clear answers to describe strengths of a “very good system”, or if it address all challenges and threats, or what is the cost of restoration in case of significant failure, or finally, what is effective “Being proactive vs Being reactive” ?

Constant Evaluation, the opportunity to open the floor for innovations and improvements, to be ahead of challenges.

Retrospective to past, but perspective to the future – this is the Mission of the Evaluation, an essential part of any Government or Corporate organizations.

IAEA conducted Regional Workshop “Nuclear Security Detection Architecture – Evaluation” in Amman, Jordan. Following IAEA guidelines up to 30 participants from 5 countries, IAEA staff and invited experts create experience sharing environment to address the topic of Evaluation within the Nuclear Security framework.
